I will just leave this here

Bill, can you post a link. How does that go on compared to spray paint? How many coats do you need for good coverage?

I like it better than spray, if you don’t over brush it there will be no brush marks. I put 2 coats on my firepit. I found it at a local fireplace store.

Bill, how would you describe the gloss level? I would think it is flat and maybe it says that somewhere on the can (I think I see it on the side). I like all the Rutland products I have ever used.

Yeah they do. When the cook box rusts/burns through excess heat and sometimes actual flames can escape the fire box and cause excess heat to build up in the control panel. Not what you'd call a "safe" condition. It's why we recommend avoiding Summits

“I have often depended upon the kindness of strangers” Going back and forth with Weber CS trying to get a new replacement thermometer for the new replacement lid on the 05 Summit Platinum. I was told that I would need to purchase it from them for a total of $31.71, so I caved, sent payment and shipping info, but never received a confirmation of purchase. I called today explaining that I had no confirmation, today’s CS representative checked and said “she had no payment information, I see you have a lot of grills, but since they replaced the lid, they would send me a thermometer no charge… “ I love Weber Customer Service!

ANOTHER SCORCHER!

Here's yet another example of the sad end some of these big current generation Summits come to:
