I will just leave this here

Kind of a sad end for a grill with classic charm that could easily be made to look beautiful again and last way longer than a new Genesis II. I hope the right person gets that before it goes to the landfill:cry:.

Integrity. Busted on both sides behind the lid hinges.

a 2000 platinum C FS for $50 in Folsom Ca. I don't think I've seen one like this before.

That's a very good deal on one of those. You don't see them that often, especially this one with the cabinet doors. It is essentially a Genesis firebox set on a first generation Summit 4-burner frame, with amped up hood endcaps and handle and "wing" side tables. It has a higher power side-burner, too, from what I understand. I always think of these grills as looking more "macho" than Weber's other offerings. Those side tables stick out pretty far, so this grill swallows a fair amount of deck space. I think it tried to make up in style what it may have lacked in practicality. They are really cool, though! I would grab it if it were near me :smilekettle: .

gold with dual work surfaces is $35. I don't care for the stainless steel lid but that could be swapped out.

I really need to stop looking at these.

You can't. It's Weberitis...they are working on the vax and a pill, but no idea when it will be approved. :D

But that one raises a red flag...whenever I see a propane tank sitting on the ground, it makes me think "gas conversion". Where's the tank support and fuel gauge? Can't see it from this angle.

It may be like the 02 Silver frame that has a cross brace to hold the tank mount vs the vertical bar style.

The other clue is the lack of horizontal braces on the bottom for the wire rack.

I'm tempted to go get it

Edit. Here is a 2000 and a 2002 silver B frame for example

Yes, it has the later "box style" upper tank support/fuel gauge, and the cross brace is there, but I can't see the box.

I can see the 2 tank bumpers on the cross member. So very good chance it is LP
I think I've seen those bumpers on NG grills too. But definitely a red flag and it would be the first question I ask. It could be a bargaining point, too, if the guy tried to do an unsuccessful conversion and now just wants to unload the grill.

Ok, maybe not the first question...I would listen to his sales pitch first and if it is a failed conversion, pick an opportune time to let him know that the turnip truck left the loading dock a long time ago.

Price of this one just dropped to $60. I'm not a fan of the burgundy color, and it is NG.

If only I had more space to store it until next spring :(

Another Platinum with durawood. My brochure shows they were only offered in a select few colors (I need to find that brochure!)
