I will just leave this here

I call that a win. Sounds like the only thing you need is a cook box. What is wrong with the cook box though? Why do you say it is toast?

The cook box is toast because the bottom square opening is completely corroded and rotted out.

I'm currently negotiating to get that blue Silver C. It has the right side flip up table and side burner but the frame is no good.
Do you know if I can adapt the side burner and tables from the Silver C frame to fit on the Silver B frame?

Branden, no, I dont think that is possible. The frames are much different on the C grills vs B grills.

I think so too.
I am hoping to cobble the Silver B I got for free yesterday and the Silver C I am getting today into one unit.

I think you are going to have to do some very lightweight fab work. That stamped pan looks to be history. You will need a couple of lengths of 1" square tubing (you can buy at Home Depot or a local steel supply) and tubing inserts to connect the L & R leg uprights like Weber used on the earlier Genesis frames, but there is more than one way to skin a cat...the very early Gennies use a single cross bar.

EDIT: But yeah, what Bruce said...start another thread.
EDIT2: The blue lid grill (the one I think you are talking about retrieving today) is a Silver B, and I'm still jealous and think you got a great deal!

I listed a dog crate for sale on FB Marketplace this morning. Not a very complicated listing. Maybe 4 sentences total. One sentence gives the height, width and depth.
I've gotten 3 messages about the crate, all 3 asking me what the dimensions are... 🤪
I just replied to each of them with a screenshot of the listing, which has the dimensions.

One guy said he would like to buy it, but he wanted me to drive 30 miles to deliver it to his house....sorry, not for a $20 dog crate!

Kyle, I get stuff like that occasionally on my rehab grill adds. And you always get the FB MP "Is this still available" idiots where all they have to do is click a button to send that message. It is part of the game we play using these sites. But, hey, it is free and reaches a lot of potential buyers, so, I try to just ignore the idiots out there.

The low ballers are another thing altogether. Like when you have a grill listed for $300 and they offer $100. I have actually responded twice on those kind of offers saying "Sure, when can you stop by to pick it up". Didn't get a response on either.

I think some people live in a basement and use FB MP and CL as their socialization vector.

Oh yeah, the low ballers. Love (hate) it when they shoot you a low ball offer 45 minutes after you post the listing and want to buy it for half of your asking price.

Yah, I love it when someone tells me my grill isn't worth more than $200 and I sell it later that day for $300. I love marking them "SOLD".
Mighty rude of people. I occasionally get a lowball, most folks at least
ask trying to save a buck, but I rarely have someone flat out being rude.

I've made lowball offers if I've seen that it's been sitting for a while because it's priced really high / they are moving and want it gone. Sometimes I'm lucky because they just want it out of their garage.

One woman was asking $75 for a Genesis 3000, rotted wood, missing side table, etc. I got it for $25 to use as a donor. So I think there sometimes is a time and place

I don't have a problem with that at all. It does get irritating, though, when you have done an all out job to make a quality USA-built Weber look and function like new to then have someone tell you its only worth a half or a third of a reasonable price - one already less than all but the cheapest import junk lined up outside Lowes and Home Depot.

Agreed. I have reached out and asked if there is flexibility on price but if they say no, at least I know. And if there is, I'll try to throw out an offer that's reasonable for both parties.

My guess is a warranty claim. The lid arrived dented, Weber sent him a new one, and he is selling the dented one. There are 2-3 lids (22" kettles) for sale right now in SoCal. All have are unused, have a slight defect, and come bare (no handles or therms). Has to be warranty claims.
