I used to. Easily doubled my time painting them. The more you do them, the more you think "There has to be a better way" and you just start refining your methodology. Getting information and advice off this list puts methodology refinement on steroids.
I still do some taping and like everything else I just like to do things my way and I'm always thinking outside the box on ways to improve on my methods. It's definitely interesting to hear other people's methods.
Oh, I do some taping as well, but just the burner holes, igniter hole, and front manual lighter hole. Sometimes on end caps I wind up using some tape as well, but not usually.
