How about some good music links?

And speaking of Derek Trucks, YT algos offered this up to me last night, a 13 yo Derek jamming with the Allman Bros.

Young Derek, already got that slide guitar going.

If you're into blues, check out this collaboration of Beth Hart with Joe Bonamassa. If you're unfamiliar with her story, she has overcome addiction and depression to gain back her career. Very inspiring interview somewhere on Youtube, but the talent that this lady has is unreal. In this song when she winds it up, I can almost hear Joplin trying to come back.

Joe Bonamassa was a big part of renewing her career. He and his producer Kevin Shirley contacted Beth about doing an album with Joe, at a time Beth needed a lift. That album , " Don't Explain " is very good.

More from Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa and the album " Don't Explain " ............. they cover a classic made famous by Etta James.

Now I KNOW I must be the oldest one here. I have no idea who you guys are talking about. lol

This music is considered " Blues Rock " by the people who label genres of music, or more accurately, they pigeon hole music. Its rooted in blues, interpreted by rock musicians, and the audience for this genre is older folks. Seems the " youngins " haven't discovered this yet or blues just doesn't fit their mood. Which applied to me in my younger days.

And three of the more prominent blues rock musicians, were child guitar prodigies, or phenoms. Joe Bonamassa, Derek Trucks, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd were playing this music in their early teens. Then there was Beth Hart. Who won Ed McMahon's " Star Search " as female vocalist in the early 90's. All of them now have audiences that are mostly us " boomers " .

Tedeschi Trucks released their version of " Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs " today . And I'm mired deep into weight loss and can't celebrate this with some good beers.

This right here, is the best music I've heard in a long while.

Joe Bonamassa said once, that TTB had so much talent, " it should be illegal " . And every bit of it comes through here, along with Trey Anastasia of Pfish jamming with Derek ........... man, this is good.

Right now, If I had to pull out the original Derek and the Dominoes version or this one, I would pull out this one, no doubt.
