Hickory Planked Pork Chops

used this stuff (on sale at Menards)

soaked a hickory plank for a few hours

marinated a couple of porterhouse pork chops in this stuff then lightly seasoned with Jerk Pork

a few minutes each side directly over the heat to sear, then aboard the board.

great smoke flavour from those planks... best thing is, they're reusable.

Jim those chops look terrific! Do you like them better than when you do them without the plank?
 
Excellent ideer on cooking the chops on a plank. Those monster chops would look great on my plate right now.
 
Another Home run bro! Wish i could find Hickory planks around here. Must be great used like that. I bought some oak planks in my local timber yard. Cleaned em/brushed em with veg oil and tossed em indirect on the grill for 20 min. Just feels kosher cooking on em. :) ... Have a great Easter Jim!
