When Barb and I lived in Lake Forest California there was a little Chinese restaurant that had a few booths, but most of their sales were take out.
Whenever we go back to see the kids we always try to stop there for lunch or dinner.
They have great egg drop soup and spring rolls, but the one thing I always order when we go there is the beef broccoli plate. It’s the very best I’ve ever had.
I tried for years to replicate it with little success, to be honest not even close.
Now after living in Arizona for 16 years and a gazillion beef broccoli recipes later I nailed it.
I found a recipe when I was surfing the net for some grilling recipes to try and found Grilled Beef with Broccoli. I looked at the ingredients and thought the flavor profiles might be exactly what I was looking for.
The players for the marinade and a nice flank steak

While the meat rested Barb did up the broccoli which was basted with a thinned down version of the marinade.

It’s a complete knock off of my favorite Chinese dish, I’m one happy camper.
Have a great week everyone.
