Green Genesis 1000LX Build

That's fine, just trying to understand the process.
I think it will hold up well. I like that I could keep the factory texture that the cook box and lid caps have. If for some reason it doesn't hold up well I can always strip them completely down and repaint but I think it'll be good.

I actually think what you did will hold up better than had you stripped it all down to bare metal. I was just curious as to what you did and why. It looks good.

You're welcome. To be fair though, that grill isn't a true test of your restoration powers. It was too nice to begin with😉.
Oh I know kinda Feels like cheating. I have plenty more coming up that are definitely on the rougher side! It'll be cool to see it massive transformation. I love this one but it was nice to start with.

Don't make the same mistake that I made by ordering these from Amazon.Screenshot_20240716_002018_Amazon Shopping.jpg

These are the wheels I actually received from Amazon.20240716_000245~2.jpg

And I'm a bit confused because when I look them both up they have the exact same Weber part number. I must be missing something here.

I had the exact same experience. Ordered #63050 & received #80735 just as you did. I’ve already sent them back.

Did you find a reliable source to order these from?
Nope. I’ll be cleaning and dressing up my tote of used ones for now. I’ll probably break down and bite the bullet on some of the rubber Master Touch wheels and Chuck’s Inserts if I jump into another special project. I’ve also got a bunch of the Broil King wheels to use that I stocked up on as well. They’re rubber, smooth rolling, sharp looking, and priced right.

Sounds like you have plenty of options.
If I find a reliable source I'll let you know.
