Genesis Jr Restoration

The cool thing is you can even do a simple rotisserie setup on the Q3XX and it's really quite efficient. Not using mine currently. I removed it from the deck when I was having it refinished. Just haven't moved it back yet
I would imagine they would definitely be appealing especially to a single person and maybe an older person that doesn't want to move big barbecue around. I know I could easily donate it to someone who would get much benefit. I could probably finish one for very little money also.

Dirty little secret. I would MUCH rather move my 350lb Wolf around or 300 lb Z Grill around than any Q grill. The Q may look easy but it's far from it

I am not positive, but I think you might be able to use a regular Three burner Genesis 1000 manifold and just not use the middle valve. You might want to explore that option if you can't find a NG manifold for the Jr. Then, if it fits, just remove the middle valve and put in a plug adapter.

The 3-burner Genny 1000 manifold definitely fits. It only takes a "little" modification to go to three burners . . .

It appears the center burner is even the OG style with the holes on both sides! That looks like it would be a phenomenal little cooker. I think I may need one of those little guys if I ever stumble across another, I won’t be leaving it.

It definitely cooks. I have a Genny 1000 NG manifold on it now, along with a set of Grill Grates. It's absolutely perfect for our empty nest household.

I'm leaving my my Jr for a few months. When I return I plan on bringing everything I need to finish it out. Trying to note anything I will need. Wheels or at least wide white walls, frame caps, Dave's flav bars, SS Grates, NG valves/manifold and hose, grill cover and all necessary tools.

Question:
Is there anything you can think of that I may need besides this list or anything to check before I leave?

I'll be buying high temp paint and wood stain and poly and any similar supplies here when I return.

It looks like you have a good set of burners which are an issue with those grills.
SS cook box bolt, SS manifold bolts. Good lid thermometer. A good drip pan if you don't have one.
I am ordering a spare set of burners from Etsy even though these look really good just to make sure I have them if I ever need them and maybe a spare ignighter.

They are no problem for most people. However, I use a Chargon to clean my 9mm grates and having grates without that center support is a game changer.

@LMichaels On a bigger set like the Wolf I would probably be happy to have them for the extra support but on a smaller set for an old Genesis if it's not necessary I would just rather not have it. Honestly to me it's not that big a deal either way. The quality is what's most important to me.

I was considering packing all four tables in my luggage and bringing them home to Washington to refinish them and then bring them back next time I come back but I decided to just leave them there.
