Franklin -- photos and damage report

Texas Monthly just did an expanded story on the fire at Franklin Barbecue. Lots of photos. The part you gotta love is that although the fire occurred at 5:27am, there was already one person in line.

Considering the damage just done to his place, he appears to be pretty much unflappable. After they reopen the lines will

"the line will probably be longer!" Truly! I know I'm tempted to go half-way across the country just to support him. And, naturally, since I first saw his show I have anticipated my next trip to Austin -- Franklinis being a main attraction for me now. (After many business trips, Austin remains one of my favorite places.)
