First time using my Meat Grinder..

I was recently married and received a meat grinder from my brother as a gift. Never used one before and decided the best way to break it in was by making some burgers. I picked up a chuck roast and had a brisket flat in the fridge that i was going to cook tomorrow but i decided what the hell.....Made 12 8oz patties.

Anyways here are the pics...nothing on the plate because after trying a bite i didn't want to take the time to shoot a picture because it was one of the best burgers i have had in a while.

No complaints at all. Granted, i have never used a grinder before but it was easy to use and easy to clean up which given the nature of what you are doing is paramount to keep a clean kitchen. It was loud but that is to be expected. It has three different grind sizes and this was the middle one, i think next time i am gonna go with the smaller one.

As far as the burger itself, I seasoned it very simply with just salt and pepper. I might do a little more fat trimming next time in an effort to make them a little more healthy.....I am looking forward to trying to make sausage now.

I was surprised at how good it was actually. Now to be fair I usually use very lean meat and well, this wasn't but the taste was amazingly good, especially with the roasted jalapeños

Congratulations! On your wedding, the gift, and your nice use of it.

I'll bet it can be used as a stuffer as well. If so, the sky is the limit on all kinds of sausages.

yes, it can be used to make sausage as well. I plan on sourcing some casings this week and seeing what else i can make with this thing :)

Been thinking about getting a meat grinder attachment for our kitchen aid, after seeing this I'm going to pull the trigger.

Very nice! And once you start grinding your own burgers,NOTHING will make you will go back to store bought ground meat.

Thanks for sharing and congrats on the wedding! Can you tell me the brand of the grinder?

Thanks....and it is a Waring pro professional series.

Loud but that is to be expected but i went through the 6lbs+ or so about as fast as i could shove the meat down the intake tube.

Great looking burger there JayRob! You may have just sold a few more grinders. I've been looking at them also.
