Back to the Pentax for this cook.
First off, Jo and I do not care for fish that is baked, broiled, grilled, etc.
We Like Fried! and I'm a fish fryin' fool, if I do say so myself.

Still playing along with Jo's WW diet though, so I.......
dredged cod filets in a mix of butter, lemon juice, salt, and garlic powder:

Panko crumbed, and skewered them:

First to feel the heat of the lump was zukes:

Then the cod:

Bring a knife, since the fish was overcooked and rubbery.

In my quest to at least make them look like fried, I overcooked by trying to brown the breading.
Lesson learned, guess I'll stick with fried.

To ease my pain I tried some of Jo's PB2, low fat, low cal, powdered peanut butter on top of some full fat ice cream:

Good stuff!

Bob I'm with you on that to us frying the fish is the only way, but that said my cardiologist said knock it off so we grill ours now. So guess what we don't eat a lot of fish anymore. Got to try that PB2 as I like peanut butter

Bob, next time you are going to fry fish, try using peanut oil and Louisiana Fish Fry. Its very simple and very good.
Peanut oil is better for you as recommended by American Heart Association. Tastes better too. In a cast iron pan on
the grill works well.

Have never seen powdered peanut butter before. Have I lead a sheltered life?

You're correct Bob, they are great pictures. I have not eaten a lot of fried fish, we do enjoy it on the grill.

Looks really good to me Bob!!! I think you just need to find fish that is good on the grill, Cod was made to be fried IMO. Halibut, salmon, mahi mahi, yellow tail are some that I have grilled and came out really good. There are tons of grilled salmon recipes out there that don't require a cedar plank too.

As I sit here watching it snow....again dreading the ride to work, those pics are ridiculously good! The Pentax did a great job! I'll have to take your word on the cod and the PB2. I love peanut butter. I'll have to follow John's advice also on fish selection. I just finished my physical and it wasn't to bad, I just want to avoid the inevitable for me as long as possible. :) man this pics are good, I need to invest in a new camera.

Great pics!

You say that the fish were rubbery? Humm are you sure it was fresh? I think i remember a post around here somewere that gives you some hints how to pick up a fresh one...Se if i can find it :o

First off the pictures are incredible. What lens do you use for that? The cook looks great to me. I will have to say certain fish are much better fried. When I do Tilapia I grill it on a cast iron griddle so it gets a nice sear all over. It turns out pretty good and is nice an crispy.

Looks like you cooked it about as good as could be done, Bob! I did a crappy Cod cook the other day myself on the grill. Mine turned out tough/rubbery as well. I plan on trying some tilapia next time. We'll see how that turns out. I have grilled salmon a few times however with very good results. Great pics too.
