Curb Alert !!!

Dan are you saying only because it is a 1000 that you have pictured here is the reason the burners hit the RHS silver B swing table bracket.

I did the double Swing table mod on my Silver B but I did not notice any hinderance. Maybe I should double check.

Dan,
The only instance other then the pic in discussion that I had ever seen a 1000 with a thermaset table mod was the one you made a thread of. Someday I would like to attempt it.

What surprised me about this pic is that I did not know that the depth of the Silver B shelves would accommodate this old of a frame and fit.

Yes. The 1000 cookbox is deeper, and sits lower in the frame and the burners are lower than on a silver B. the RH swing tables fit a silver without any issues. I could have clearanced the hinge that supports the RH swing up table to clear the burners, but I opted to use the plastic condiment basket and call it good.

This is not an issue on Genesis 2/3 2000/3000s since the swing up table is not near the burners. The only mod needed to use silver/gold trim is to add the catch on the leg.

Thanks @DanHoo igniting the light bulbs in my head. I see from your pic that Silver B shelves and trim due fit a 1000 frame to some point.

You are welcome. the Genny 1000 I have on my patio today is the one you linked above with the Silver B trim. The thermoset is maintenance free.

Wonder what the thermoset tables would look like on the bottom? I would think it may take a few though.

I forgot to mention it has the bottom rack from a 2002 Gold B. It didn't fit very well.

Could always heat up the loops that hook over the cross member and straighten them out and then lop them off flush, or re-heat and re-bend, given you'd lose some strength though.

I don't think I would care for that. If your grill didn't have the E/W cross members, you would have to add them too.

I was referring to if it were a 2/2000 frame for the modified wire bottom.

If the grill has left-to-right cross bars ( front and rear ) I think there are lots of options for a bottom shelf.

At first I used a basket from a DU date code Silver B and it fit fine resting on the front and rear cross bars

I later swapped in Durawood and I like that look.

Thermoset shelves also fit. on a 2000/3000 it might take three of them to cover the bottom.

I think Weber was deliberate in making the sizes all add up to the same. From 1/1000, to 2/x000, silver B and C to match. I imagine it kept costs down. Just like using the same tank hanging bracket on gas and charcoal grills. Until they went to the stopwatch frames.
