Yeah, Paul doesn't mind a nice, long drive as much as I do!That’s right, he’s the one that lives in the high rise? He really likes to travel then, the Dells is quite a hike from Chicago.
He likes the old stuff mostly. He's done some really nice restorations when he was still in England. I keep meaning to get together with him, and I will one of these days.I’d say. I wonder what all he’s interested in?![]()
I think he’s the one who’s pics have given me the chills, not just from the the resto pics but from being 40 floors upYep he's done some remarkable restos.
Looking forward to seeing more from you Paul!Grill collected after a 400 mile round trip. Grill not quite in as good shape as FBMP pic suggested but still very solid. The grates, flav bars will be going in the dumpster but all else ok, even the much loved grease tray looked solid on first look. all wood is very good but the original handle likely needs replacing (Steve H, im looking at you). will asses properly this week and update in a new thread. Yes, I am mad btw

Looks like i will need one of your fine handles, i stripped down the grill today and will replace a number of parts with new. The original wooden handle is bowed outwards from the grill, not sure why but sort of assumed heat is a factor. wood type would be as close as possible to original, that sort of orangey fake tan look. Hit me up in the DM's with pricing if you would kind sir!!A

Paul, let me see some pictures of the grill so I can figure out what kind of wood it probably is.Looks like i will need one of your fine handles, i stripped down the grill today and will replace a number of parts with new. I think I would go with removing the plastic. Besides, it's been on there long enough to where it might not easily be removed.People are strange. I just picked up this one from a storage unit.
The grill has clearly been cooked on a good many, many times, and yet for some reason, in all that time…I guess they never wanted to remove the plastic from the doors.
Now when I list it for sale I’m torn whether it will benefit my sale in some way to leave the plastic on, or remove it and show off all that factory shine.

That would definitely be a workflow setback…good point.I think I would go with removing the plastic. Besides, it's been on there long enough to where it might not easily be removed.
