Curb Alert !!!

I explored some of this. The shop I took it to was dubious about replicating all the bends and curves - especially at the top of the firebox where it rests on the round tube frame. Someone here a while back posted that they had done this, but not the cost. I went with the “shield” concept as a practical, lower cost way to address the firebox problem.

This is why I need to see one in person. Just to see it. I’m assuming the bends have to be a rolled edge opposed to sharp bends?
Here are a few pictures of an extra front @LMichaels gave me that sits out in my barn. As far gone as it is, I think my stainless reinforcement panels could still buy many years of use.

Under the lawnmower dust, you can see this is a complex piece to fabricate to relatively close tolerances. Sure, anything can be done, but at what cost?

I am glad to see a good version of a happy cooker. I was starting to think the LP Kettle that I see when driving school bus was maybe a knock off. But from the road, the extra tall handle is making it look more and more like it actually is a Weber. I just found out I know their neighbor. I have no interest in buying or acquiring it. I just want to see it - first hand.
