I stole some black knobs and the drip pan off one like that! Was going to tray and take the basket off the end by the knobs, but it was welded to the frame, that was pretty much shot.

Not sure when they dropped the large slats, but I think it was only after 2 or 3 years in the late 80s. The "later" Genesis 1-5 still had the old style fuel gauge, black knobs, and older wheels and a few other oddities, but started having the narrow slats, The 1990 catalog we have shows them all with narrow slats.

That's a Spirit 500 two burner grill. I haven't seen one with that lid before though.this is a weird one. Its free. I can't see three knobs. Did they make two burner x000 class grills? or is this a mongrel.

Yeah, they aren't too common though. You mostly see them on the three burner models.

I think they were more common around these parts back then. Maybe because of Weber having been a local producer and headquartered here
