This was my second try at tritip. I overcooked the first one. Did this one on the kettle using reverse sear indirect. Used pecan for smoke. It turned out amazing. I didn't know what tritip was before I joined this forum. It's a great cut. The wife gave many compliments on the cook.
Served with homemade potatoes au gratin.

Out of the grill to rest.


Plated. I cooked to medium for the wife.



Very tender and great flavor.
 
Fantastic looking Tri Tip. Never would have guessed it done to the point it is in the sliced picture. Would have thought it rarer based on the "just out" photo. Excellently done
