Chipmunks

Anyone have ideas (that work) to simply keep the little stiped rats away from my house? I have had to spend so many thousands of $$$ over the years due to them. With gas at $5+ gal I am not giving them any more free rides to the forest preserve. But hate having to send them to Chippie heaven either. Would like to have an alternative that simply repels them. Last few years I was trapping them then taking them far away and releasing. Now lets just say they're taking a much longer ride

Know what you mean Larry, when we used to fly fish in the high sierras in Calif. The sneaky little varmints would sneak up and jump in our tackle boxes and steal our bait and even lures and fly's. You didn't dare put any food down they would grab it while you still had your hands on it. When we were leaving one lake, I heard something and looked in the mirror and there sat one on the back seat of my bronco. It took two of us about 15 minuets to get the little hitchhiker out of the truck.

Chipmunk swimming pool. 5 gallon bucket, 2/3rd full of water and a plank or something for a ramp up to the rim. Sunflower seeds in the shell float on top as bait. You’ll be shocked how many you fish out every morning AND evening.

When we backpack and hike we call them "ninja bears" as they can chew through anything and make it look like a bear swiped at it.

remove food sources

add "repellent" which could be plants or other smells and tastes that they do not like.

increase predators, or perceived predators

Yeah the irony here is I trap them in a Have A Heart then the pellet pistol dispatches them. I know it's not fair but kind of at my wits end with the little critters. Too small for the rotisserie :D Hopefully the repellant I bought keeps them away. Thinking the rat traps will be "quicker" though.
