I did a variation of Larry Wolfe's Old Fashioned Chicken Noodle soup. I thought it might add some flavor and also be a little healthier by not having all the drippings in the soup----I saved all the juices though, and also boiled the picked clean bones for an hour for the stock. I also threw in a large handful of "forbidden rice", just a black rice I found a few weeks ago....thought I'd like the texture.

That is one delicious looking soup, Clint. If it wasn't 100 degrees here again today, I'd reach through and have a bowl. This is definitely on my to do list in another month or so. Great job.

Your soup looks almost good enough to swim in! It's only 64 here today so I would be happy to share a bowl.

One pointer I'd like to add: chill the soup fairly soon or the egg noodles will continue cooking..... I have my 8 qt stockpot chilling in the sink with ice water-----the noodles were getting too soft (I went back for seconds a good bit later)

Yeah, Larry cooks up good stuff all the time!
And Clint, you cooked up a Perfect Pot of Great Lookin' SuperDuperSoup!

Awesome job on the chicken noodle soup, Clint! Getting to be fall like here in Wisconsin. Could go for a bowl or six right about now.:)

Larry has some great videos and recipes. Thanks for sharing your cook.

That soup looks excellent, Clint.

One thing I learned here (from Kevin Kruger, I think) is to roast the bones before making the stock. This will give you a darker, richer stock. It works - try it sometime.

I'm glad you mentioned that. Whenever I make chicken soup, I make the noodles separately, and add them to the soup as needed.

Clint, that soup looks wonderful. Rich made a copy and we will be doing that real soon!! We love soups.
