It was Jo's turn to host bunco last night, so I retired to my man-cabin, while the 12 women upstairs rolled dice, swapped gossip, and do whatever it is that a group of women do.
The old 18" burgundy has a new ash sweep & pan.
First cook on the $5.80 (last year's clearance) grate from Target.
Fired up just out the back door.
Four smallish brats messin' up the new grate.
While those cook, I'll show you around my man-cabin.
I think the term is "it's a little busy" even though I stopped collecting/finding vintage cabin/camp 'stuff' years ago.
My hand-carved birds include some by a Missouri folk artist.
Quick story about the timber rattler skin behind the bar.
I do not like to kill snakes, but this fellow was in the forested area where we were surveying, back in the mid 1980's.
It was coiled, rattling, and ready to strike, but I had a long handled shovel in my hands.
I found a recently swallowed, whole grey squirrel inside him/her.
Brats are done.
Plate on lap food is always good!
A couple more B's before I go.
I sipped Bourbon, and listened to Cardinals Baseball on the radio.
