Beer.

Time to restock the kegerator. An American wheat today, and an Irish red and a sweet stout tomorrow.

I'm using an Anvil Foundry electric all grain brewery with a mash recirculating pump. It'll run on either 120V or 240V, I'm set up for 240V (for the electricians, yes, I have a GFCI breaker on it.)

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday!

We took a short road trip earlier this week up the coast to Solvang. Did some hiking, wine tasting, and made a visit to the Firestone Walker Brewery just outside of nearby Buellton.

Came home with some Firestone Walker beers I have *never* seen or tried before.

Brewed an American Pale Lager based on the grain bill from Sierra Nevada Beer Camp, my own hop bill using Aussie and NZ hops, and Diamond yeast.

Happy Saturday, everyone!

Made a visit to Fall Brewing in the Miramar area of San Diego.

Good selection of drafts

Mad World; West Coast IPA (Citra, Citra Cryo, Dynaboost Cryo Pop and Krush hops)
This Is Not My Beautiful Wife; Hazy Pale Ale (Simcoe, Mosaic)

Sweet Resistance won a gold medal at the 2025 Brewers Cup of California.

Came home with a growler - enjoying a glass now.

Enjoying a 12yo Abelour Single Malt over a one of the giant ice cube (balls) I made. Using RO water for it. So nice and clear no minerals dropping out. In my Chicago Skyline glass

After a couple of 90-degree days, it cooled down to a high of 80 and windy today. Was planning on grilling a couple of flat irons for Mother's Day but with winds close to 30 this afternoon, went with a skillet.
Would love to get some heat here. It's been cooling down into the 40s within minutes of the sun setting. Though honestly Friday, yesterday and today were outstanding days.
Took the little ones out to one of the paths Blake and I like to hike along the Kishwaukee. They had a great time

This has been a great thread, but it seems like y'all are missing one very important truth:

Much like cheese, if it's not from Wisconsin it's not really beer.;););)

Here are a couple I've tried this week; both are about $9-10 a sixer. I'm familiar with both breweries and they put out some good stuff. Sorry, no photos just Untappd website stuff. Look ma, no IPAs!

Karben4 Lady Luck Dark Red Ale. Almost too easy to drink, and at 7.5% a person could get into trouble if he or she isn't careful.

Third Space Maibock. At 30 IBU it has a little bit of a bite but it's not bad at all.
