I used my Spiced Winter Ale for my 'beer' and a little $5 chicken for my Beer Can Chicken and Cowboy Beans. Once again a Jamie Purviance recipe with OUTSTANDING taste.

What temps were you able to run in the 14.5"? I've also got a 14.5, and beer can chicken is on my list, just haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Is there any specific reason to use the lower grate? Doesn't fit in the upper or are you looking for higher T?

Just the height of the bird. If I used the top grate it would not have fit.
