Beer Braised Short Ribs

Picked up some short rib singles in the dog food section of the meat department for about half off.
It’s been so long since I did short ribs I really wasn’t sure what to do with them. Thanks to Dwain Pannell who suggested a Weber recipe from the book Weber Smoke called Beer Braised and Mesquite Smoked Short Ribs.

It’s quite involved and takes about six hours but well worth it.
The only thing I changed is I’m not a fan of mesquite so I used hickory instead.

With the reduced braising liquid and the sauce to make the glaze it was really great and very tender, but not fall of the bone tender and a great smoky flavor.

Sides were Barbs grilled zucchini and one of her pasta salads.

Will be doing this again.

Looks like my dinner and a movie! You two are some cooking fools out there. Never had it but am going to have to try that recipe after seeing the plate. Well done.
 
Rich - that is some great looking dog food buddy. Love the luster on those short ribs. Good call on the hickory...

Those ribs look good. That's a cool light set up.....

Really the dog food section? Geez!! I wish I had a store like that!! Good looking ribs and love the action shots!!
