So I am wondering if anyone knows what these https://www.ereplacementparts.com/control-panel-plugs-with-screws-p-1476262.html things are called. The plastic parts not the screws. And if so what are they called generically and anyone have a source for generic ones? I need a bunch. My dad's grill, the "new" 2000 I just picked up, the old Genesis 2 I gifted the son in law. So wondering if I can find them generically like at a Menard's or such? Don't want to pay Weber prices :D

What, you don't want to pay $6 for a couple of those? LOL I am afraid that Weber might have designed a custom part instead of using a standard part for those. Interesting to see if you can find them though.

Yeah that's why I am asking to see if anyone has run across them in a local type store, HD, Lowes, Menards, F&F, etc. I may try Fastenal I have one near my house

Larry, I had to get those from Weber when I did my Redhead as those screws and inserts were missing. I looked around in my local Ace which usually has oddball stuff and did not see anything that matched kind of like the pins for the hood Weber seemed to use a size that is not standard as I could not match them in HD, Lowes or Ace.

The pins I have seen for sale at Farm & Fleet because they're used on small implement pieces so they sell them and the little clips

I ran into that problem on just one grill where the nylon insert was so brittle it broke when I tried to put the screw back in. I looked everywhere with no luck, seems to be an odd size.
I was able to get a couple of small bolts nuts and washers to do the job but it was a complete PITA to get my fat fingers in to get the washer and nut on. With more than one grill to do I wouldn't go down the road I did.

They've gotta be an off the shelf item. I seriously doubt Weber would do the engineering for a custom made fastener like this

Nylon nut is what I call them. I picked up some for the Gennies I am redoing last week at Ace Hardware. If possible try and take a good with with you
to compare the size with. The had many that were similar but didnt fit exactly. I found the right one when I made my 2nd trip with a good one in hand.
1/4 inch if I recall, but they had 2 sizes of those, take the one with the taller head.

Jon they are the ones you find on the right end of the Silver series frame. They are what the screws screw into to hold the right side of the control panel on. If you don't have any, I think I do. I just parted out a Silver B last week and I am pretty sure I would have salvaged those unless I just overlooked them.

Thanks guys IIRC I need about 6 of them. Just to take care of grills in the family that have issues with them
