Alder flavored chicken with butternut squash ravioli!

Evening folks...looks like a chicken nite tonight...started out with a few chicken breasts dusted with poultry rub and a bit of Alder for flavor!(don't normally use alder for anything but fish but I did some sea salt and almonds in it this last weekend so I'm on a roll!)

Chicken gettin close so we started some mushrooms in butter and smoked sea salt!

White wine mushroom sauce all thickened up!

And all plated up with butter nut squash ravioli(Costco) and steamed green beans and a great Alaskan classic!(funny about this picture...bout time I took this one a buddy had sent me a text of his brisket dinner while he was on business in anchorage...I quickly sent him this picture and he showed it to the employees at the restaurant he was at and everyone wanted some!)

The chicken was super...ravioli was pretty darn good too!

Beautiful looking plate... What kind of smoke flavor do you get from Alder? Is it similar to oak?

Tony I have not had oak so not sure how it compares...real mild similar to hickory I suppose!
