Hi Gang, We went yard sale'ing (kinda like antiquing for the low brow set!) last weekend and scored this beauty for my daughter, SIL and Granddaughters.

Letter B, circa 1980. Love that orange peel! I'm letting him clean it up, not that there is much to do: polish the outside and the legs if he wants, and a new handle. The daisy wheels spin freely, bowl handles are tight, there is a nice patina inside, and the porcelain is in fine shape. It came with a newer, flip edge grate and a Weber chimney, for the grand total of twenty bucks!

I'm driving to work yesterday and I got to thinking: Cindy's delivering it on Thursday, I need to cook on it tonight! Test her out, make sure everything works... you know. Swung by Spaceway and picked up a pair of my favorite cheapsteaks: Chuck Top Blades. S&P for now

I picked up a bunch of radishes at the Farmer's Market, thinking for our salads. Than, I got to thinking, Grilled Radishes, m-m-m-m. (and, I'm done thinking for this post!) The marinade is melted butter, lemon juice, olive earl, agave syrup (cause I couldn't find the honey) and S&P.

A tip of the hat to Bill. Onion and mushroom in the CI. That's about a half chimney of Stubbs.

I was aiming for 140, went over a smidge. Brought them in to rest, dusted w/ Montreal

Nothing left so say

No surprises with the kettle: cooked like a champ. No surprises with the meal: cooked by a chump. Thanks for stopping by and I'll see ya around the fire!

A good purchase!
It seems that your new family member works for you very well Brian. Steaks looks amazing. Nice colorful plate as always.

That looks delicious, Brian. Nice catch on that kettle. I have one around that same vintage. Wooden handles. Mine has a P so I guess it came along after yours.

Brian you did good on that score! Great looking test cook! Wife and I do the yard sale thing too, buy something at the yard sale for $10 and sell at our next yard sale for $5, I'm never going to learn.

Good stuff, nice of you to take care of a poor unwanted soul and provide a new caring home.

Nice cook :-)

She's a good looking cooker my friend, and a tip of the glass back at you. Nice looking cook bud I know you guys ate well

Nice score and top blade steaks rock, great flavor and texture. Imho i like top blade steak over chuck eye steak.
