Strip Steak on the Camp Chef

Should have done this a little earlier, where I had the grill I had zero light so it was hard to determine how well the steak was doing with a flashlight. Had to rely on the Thermo Pop for doneness.
The grill hit 500 degrees in 30 degree weather with no wind which I thought was pretty decent. Did a reveres sear, had plenty of heat off to the side and boatloads with the fire box open in the center.
Although this will probably be the last time I use it as a grilling tool with the gassers and the performer they will get those calls.
Very pleased with the results. The steak came out great so to me the Camp Chef works as advertised.
One note running that puppy at 500 degrees the only thing that uses more fuel is the Union Pacific 2014. Went through about a pound of pellets in 20-25 minutes.

Enjoy the game.

Wow Rich, nice sear job on the pellet unit. Looks guud! 20* here this morning & just threw a brisket on the PBC over Jealous Devil. Its running @350*.
Have a great SB day!
Oh by the way those ribs weren't too shabby either.

Thanks Russ, those two cooks were the first two I've done. The ribs came out super good so for the second cook which was the steak I decided I needed a challenge and did in complete darkness and yep I got a challenge. Lucked out on that one.

Great info Rich on using your new grill for high heat, and amount of fuel used to do so.
Great to know it can get up there even at low outside temps. Steak looked very good nice color. A very capable grill from what I have seen so far.
