Robert's Wazita's Carnitas

This is one of several of Robert R's cooks that I had bookmarked. Thought I'd pull it out and give it a try. I miss seeing Robert's cooks. It's been a while. Here's the link to his thread and I've attached a few pictures of my cook as well. I made the Carnitas for a couple of future cooks I have planned so there is no plate shot.

I followed Robert's instruction almost exactly. I deviated by using one of my camp ovens for the broiling step at the end.

Small 3 lb. boneless butt.

On the grill at 350 for right at 3 hours.

Back in the Camp Oven to crisp up.

Ah, carnitas, one of my favorite ways to cook up some pork butt! I'll have to give Robert's method a try, I've only made these on the stovetop. Did you use any smoke wood, Cliff, or just straight up charcoal? I'll be looking for your posts of the cooks for which you use the carnitas! Yum!
