Hey all, I look forward to the community here on TVWBB.
I was bidding for jobs Thursday for a customer who is selling their home. Some small talk after the walk-through to cement the relationship, I asked what they were doing with the grill under the covered deck. They had not used it in 4 years, so said if I could take it that day, it was mine for $50. Keep in mind it was still under the Weber cover.
So I asked if I could take a look at it and if it was a Weber or just an old cover. Fast forward, and under the cover is a 2005 Summit Platinum 6 burner natural gas! It is really hard for me to contain my excitement when you find a steal like that but I zipped up my jacket around my neck (to not show the swollen jugular vein), and inspected the grill. I asked to make sure all burners worked and found the $10 igniter switch to be broken. Lit every burner with a long lighter and everything fired right up. told them I would take it if the 10" hose and quick disconnects were included, they obliged.
Grabbed my neighbor and brought it home. Just needed a good cleaning and the new igniter. Got my favorite canvas cover from Bass Pro, $49. The covers are amazing and last 5-7 years before the top wears thin enough to rip.
Also, picked up this Genesis silver (not sure on the model yet, or what it is missing) that needs the box repainted, with propane tank for AND a weber 22" Premium kettle for $20 at a yard sale.
See you guys around!!!
