Hi I have a 2000 Performer and while I was cooking some corned beef the handle came off the lid. It looks like the spot welds broke. Has this happened to anybody else? Luckily, I do have a OTG that used the lid from so I could finished cooking. I am bummed.

ditto on the one side approach. I gave up doing 2 sides and now only do one side, with the top vent on the cool side of the grill. Done this method the last 10 + times and it works great!
