My rcplanebuyer grates do the same thing on my Silver B. TBH I think it's unreasonable to expect the grates to fit in the cookbox as a precision assembly. Post a pic if you're able.

True. There are special drill bits designed to drill out blind/pop rivets. For this task OP should buy this rivet removal tool and then pick up the cheapest corded drill he can find on eBay. https://www.vintagetrailersupply.com/rivet-removal-tool-vts-497/

They're just sheet metal nuts so there's not too much of a binding/rust bonding problem. I used the thumb method with a 3/8" drive cordless impact wrench with a wobble extension. They spun right off. I could see using a hard rubber block or something next time to spare my thumb.

That's what I'm waiting to find now - a stainless steel frame. After that I'm done with the perpetual upgrade game.

There was a lot of rust inside the frame of the Genesis Silver B I restored (didn't actually fully restore it, just cleaned and repaired). I shook out the loose rust and then sprayed Rust-Oleum Rust Reformer liberally from each open end of the tubes. This product is supposed to be a rust...
