I know, I know...Weber pricing is set, but...

I went ahead and did it. It is a Black Genesis E310. It was normally prices $659, and sale for $519, then they had a $20 off coupon for the 4th weekend, and when I checked out I got a coupon for a free tank fill. It took the coupon to the gas station, and they just gave me a free full tank...

I know, I know...Weber pricing is set, but...

I just found 2 floor model (I assume) Genesis 310s on sale locally for $519. Now, my 8 year old Charbroil or whatever is on it's last legs. Would I be crazy not to jump on this prices? Pre-assembled doesn't mean anything, it isn't like it was actually used or anything.

    Pulled Pork Nachos

What are you looking for? Is the pork done already? We typically pull a wad of pulled pork out of the freezer, and chop off a hunk and warm it. Then we throw chips, melted ("wet") cheese, the pork and a drizzle of BBQ sauce on top. Add some onion, jalapeno, lettuce and tomato on top if you...

    Out of the jar sauce

My bottled sauce is "Montgomery Inn". It is relatively cheap, and readily available. I have never had a complaint about it, and people really seem to like it. I prefer it because the first ingredient is Tomato, and it does not contain HFCS.

    BBQ Chicken and Roadside Thighs

Sounds like a plan. I will probably add a second smoked chicken to the WSM then. I hate to smoke with empty grates!

    BBQ Chicken and Roadside Thighs

So you are suggesting not doing a dual cook. The chicken are typically 2-3 h. at 250 if I remember correctly. I could do a hotter cook, but never tried. I could do the roadside on the Weber kettle, but was trying to use fire I already had going on the smoker. Roadside thight: Direct about 45...

What are your plans for Superbowl BBQ?

I am planning on a chicken trio! 1) Buffalo Wings 2) Smoked BBQ whole chicken 3) Roadside thighs I just don't know if it is possible to pull off. I have a thread on it here: http://tvwbb.infopop.cc/eve/fo...80069052/m/939103434

    BBQ Chicken and Roadside Thighs

A little bump. I need to get groceries soon, and am hoping I can pull off this combo.

    BBQ Chicken and Roadside Thighs

Hi all, I haven't been around in a while, but still smoking when I can! Anyhow, I am having a chicken fest for the Superbowl next weekend. I want to do a typical butterflied BBQ chix and try roadside for the first time. Plus doing buffalo wings inside. My question is, can this be done on the...

Its 4:20 AM...do you know where your butts are?

3:45, my butts were almost on 10 hours in the smoker. I have 6 on the WSM, for nearly 45 lbs raw. I am running a bit behind right now. I have to take them to an open house at 2, and my temps are around 180. I went through a LOT of charcoal too. My overnights haven't used this much. A full...

Simple Cheap ATS Final cicuit design & component list

Any news or updates on this? I just found it, and as i sit here with six (6!) butts on the WSM for tomorrow, I am wishing I had some temperature control. For ~$10, this controller would work for me. Heck, i could get most of the stuff off the shelf at work. The only think that kind of...

    Super Bowl Early Finish! Urgent!

That is what I was afraid of. I haven't had butts finish this fast (but this is only my 3rd butt smoke) I will let them cool for a while (in 170 oven right now) and then pull. One butt is for freezing, so it isn't an issue. The other if for the game and neighbor distribution, so that I will...

    Super Bowl Early Finish! Urgent!

Last year I put my butts on at 10 pm, and they finished around 4, with a huge plateau. So this time I started at 9 pm,and when I checked them at 9 this morning, they are done. So now need to hold them until the game. I was thinking foiling them, and putting them into my oven at 170. Would...

    pork butts - easy peasy

Not only are butts simple, the are hard to cook wrong. They are my WSM favorite. I have tried chicken, ribs and brisket too. I haven't been happy with my ribs or brisket, and more work is needed with those. I started mine about 6:30 last night. I actually got about 7 hours of sleep last...

    Smoked Butts on Saturday

I rubbed last night, using Mr. Brown, so not too much salt. My are are sore from hand-grinding all the pepper though! I did trim, but I thought that was the method. I guess next time I can do a compare, and save 10-15 minutes per butt prepping. Knowing that the cooler will hold for quite...

    Smoked Butts on Saturday

5 sounds early, and a bit unrealistic. What is the max cooler time, approximately? Maybe I could start at 6 at the earliest. The packs are ~15 pounds each, so the butts are ~7.5 lbs. each, untrimmed. Maybe 6 pounds trimmed. Maybe I will swap levels when I open to foil, if necessary. I guess...

    Smoked Butts on Saturday

I thought about doing three, but then I would have one left over, so I was figuring may as well cook all four! How will the additional butts affect the time? I was planning on eating around 2 or 2:30, and starting around 8pm tomorrow. That would be ~16 hours on the smoker and two holding, and...

    Smoked Butts on Saturday

I am having some people over on Sat. for an end of the term/graduation BBQ. There will be around 15 adults. I bought 2 -2-pack cryos from Sam's, bone in. The total weight as packed is about 30 pounds. According to the calculator, I only need 6.6 pounds. For the Super Bowl I did 2, people...
