    Thanks to all of you....today I completed the most simple and rewarding mod by adding casters to my WSM. What a difference. To anyone worried about this mod...JUST DO IT! You'll be happy you did. I went the simple caster route and got them at depot all in with stainless washers and ny-lock...

    Warranty claim experience

    I too had an awesome experience with them today. Very accommodating and replaced my smoker lid after I sent them a picture of the chipped/rusting handle. It's refreshing to deal with a company who stands by their products and supports them.

    Extra Lid....what to do?

    So some of you may have seen that I have experience some small rusting on the lid handle of my WSM. Weber is sending me a brand new lid assembly which will leave me with the old one. Are there any mods that I can use this for or anything worthwhile? Any thoughts/ideas?

    Not a bad idea....especially since I just did the wheel mod....now it's MUCH easier to maneuver!!!! I think I'm gonna carve out a little corner for her in the garage.......my smoker that is!

    Quick update....so I called and no questions asked, except that I email a picture of the said area, and a new lid assembly coming my way. GREAT COMPANY with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! They are few and far between now a days.

    I would agree but after one year and 10 uses? It's covered all the time...actually looks like paint chipped a bit. None the less ill blot it with a little black. Gonna call weber anyway.

    Ours has had them occasionally......I actually got mine from them as some guy had special ordered it and cancelled after they ordered. I got mine for $269! All put together!

    Rusting Lid Handle :(

    So I was cleaning up my WSM today ans noticed the flange on the handle where it attaches to the lid on the side was rusting. It's not horrible but will most likely get worse over time. I'm disappointed since I always keep it covered when not in use. I'm going to call Weber to see what they say....

    This was exactly what I was looking for! Using it today on a 7lb roaster that I plan on cooking on the WSM. I plan on brining for a couple hours...too long?

    Put the brisket on around 8 am and she's up to 165 and kind of stalled. I've got the smoker dialed in around 24o despite the wind. I think my makeshift shield out of plywood scraps is helping! Gonna foil at 170. Bacon went on my neighbors smoker at 1130....looking great already. Straight...

    Hey guys...so I didn't realize when I got a brisket flat from my local beef farm that so many of you frown on them but I'm now stuck with it. This weekend we are smoking 2 bellies on my neighbors smoker and I volunteered to do the brisket. What temp and how long for a 4.5 lb untrimmed flat...
