WSM 14.5 Discontinued...

I was at a local hardware store and they had the WSM 14.5 marked down to $150 and when I asked the guy about it he pulled it up on the computer and said it was discontinued. Not sure if that means just that particular store will no longer be carrying it or if Weber is done with them.

Anyone heard anything?

I would think that sales have been to good for Weber to discontinue, but my guess would be that a Hdw chain such as Ace, True Value, etc may have decided to discontinue.

Well, I have proven to my own satisfaction that the 14.5 WSM is a FINE smoker in it's own right. I would hate to think that Weber is discontinuing it after such a short time on the market.

Keep on smokin',

I was at OSH (orchard supply hardware). I believe they are only on the west coast. I did buy one at $150, even though I dont really need one. When you see that little guy in person its just too hard to resist! Even the wife said it was super cute.

Was curious so checked the OSH web site and no WSM's were listed. That leads me to believe it's OSH that is discontinuing the 14.5. You got a good deal though.

Saw this last night, and went out and picked up a second one for $100. I still haven't used the one I bought a year ago! The guy that sold it to me was really cool, but I feel bad he didnt know how to use it. He wanted me to take a bottle of lighter fluid and match light as part of the deal. Um, no. He said he used it once to smoke a turkey breast, and that was it. I believe him, its spotless. I need to do a clean burn out to remove the lighter fluid residue though.

14.5" WSM was the best selling Weber smoker model of 2014. It's not going anywhere for 2015.
Which surprises me because the 14" is the most expensive per inch at 70 cents, whereas the 18 is 62 cents and the 22 is 55 cents

Using $199, $299 & $399 respectfully

I like the thought process. I would add to consider the frequency of use for one or the other, and fuel cost as well. These variables would alter the cost equation.

John what site did you find that on?

Local classifieds for a news station here in Utah:

Craigslist never really took off here like in other states, everyone uses KSL. Its dangerous, it has caused me to buy 5 WSM's, 4 BGE's, and too many kettles. I have slowed down, I think I have just bought two WSM's this year (ok, one WGA too, but do those count?). Phew, it felt good to finally get that off of my chest.

Chris how do you know what Webers sales figure are? That's typically inside information. Have you been a spy this whole time?
