What is everybody using to insulate thier WSM's?

I have a 22" that cooks very well as long as it doesn't get too windy. I'd like to hear some of the suggestions people on here have towards insulating their smokers.
I remember seeing a very nicely made "jacket" on here quite a few years ago but I think they are no longer made.
Thinking of using a welders blanket. Any other suggestions, please feel free to chime in and if possible post pictures of your setup.
I currently use a Digi Q II and have the Cajun bandit door for a great seal.
Thanks.

Sometimes a right angle plywood wind shelter has helped me. Have seen a few of the jackets in photos, but never felt the need.

The thing with welder or hot water blankets is you want ones that are sealed well on all four sides. Cheaper ones shed fiberglass and you don't want that around your cooking environment.
The cheap welding blankets we use at work make me itch just looking at them.

Thoughts on one of these?

Reflects up to 97% of radiant energy, reducing heating and cooling costs
Easy to use and install
Recycled natural-fiber padding is durable
Blanket-type, foil-faced insulation is lightweight and versatile
Excellent acoustical performance
Fire retardant with a Class-A or Class-1 fire rating
No itch or skin irritation

Versatile product with multiple uses

I'm using the sunroom/3-season porch on the back of my house. Unfortunately, the 2 feet of snow on the back patio isn't allowing me to get the WSM back outside:

Fortunately, I remembered to bring it inside before the snow hit!

Yea looks good, go for it.
I live 50 miles west of the OP in this little icebox we call the Fox Valley. I only use a wind break, never saw the need for insulating my WSM"s, but I don't run with an ATC or do low & slow so ....:wsm:

So before I purchase something I really don't need, so a blanket will not help it burn more efficiently? Burn longer? Or are these option really only to be used when it's cold/windy out?

Right now, I'm working the 22 on in the side of my house by there is a draft that run through that side. It's not a strong wind, just a nice draft.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I guess I'm not getting all this blanket talk stuff.
Warning, small rant coming.
IMO the WSM is just fine as is, period.
No ATC needed, no insulation needed (unless maybe you live in Siberia) no shelter needed, etc.
Just fire that son of a gun up and cook some meat!
Add fuel if needed, adjust vents if needed, drink more beer if need be.

Again, IMO, get a ceramic smoker if the WSM is too much trouble to deal with.

Apologies if I've offended anyone.

I would agree except for the shelter. A wind break is very beneficial to the WSM at times. The good thing is, all you need to do is move to the side of the house opposite the wind or something along those lines. It doesn't take much to get a big benefit.

Also, without some cover, it's very hard to cook if it's windy and raining.

I'm not saying you don't need one just I never felt the need to use one. I'm sure that alot of members use something similar and love the benefits of extra fuel economy on the big boy wsm.

I bought a welding blanket that was 4x6 feet and tied the two corner grommets on the long axis. It slid over the top of my 22.5 very easilyand had a triangular opening through which my thermometer cables passed. The bottom of the triangle exposed about a foot of the joint between firepit and mid section. It was easy to lift off and on to check butts toward end of cook, and wsm stayed 245-260 for 12 hours with no adjustments on a gusty 40 degree day. I haven't tried it in more extreme weather yet.
Good luck!
