Weber Genesis Rotisserie

Hi all
3 years ago I picked up a Genesis Platinum for free. It was the usual not looked after left outside grill. Rusty frame and grill plates and burners end of life. Flavoriser bars rusted..
I completely refurbed that grill to better than new. New bars added to frame. All joints fully welded and rust treated and painted. Cook box painted and stripped inside to shiny with a wire wheel. Heavy gauge stainkess flavorisers and grates added. But i never could find the missing parts for the side burner. Until i found this site. A request put out and Bruce came along and had everything i needed and looked after me.
Whats this got to do with a rotisserie? Nothing. But i do like to chat about my grill.
But back to the rotisserie. This christmas my wife bought me a Weber #7655 rotisserie. My genesis is a 2004 platinum and the bracket didn't line up and the notch on the spit rod was in wrong place and spit was too long. After searching endlessly for the correct one, it wasn't to be. Weber don't make them anymore and the #7659 which Weber says fits isn't available here in Ireland. So I modified the bracket by shortening the tabs on the motor bracket u til the holes lined up with the grill. I put the spit rod into the motor and checked alignment. With rod inserted in motor i marked out on the rod where it should be machined into a round to fit into the grill slot. I also marked where to cut off the length and add a thread for the handle and took it to a machine shop. They did a great job and now this model #7655 fits perfectly on my Genesis Platinum C. Thought it might be useful info for anyone looking for one.20210109_150740.jpg20210109_150753.jpg20210109_152436.jpg20210116_150806.jpg20210116_150830.jpg20210116_150822.jpg20210116_163412.jpg20210116_162907.jpgreceived_10210230904355313.jpegreceived_10210230904315312.jpegreceived_10210230904235310.jpegreceived_10210911248283486.jpeg20200411_165756.jpg20200502_190451.jpg

Nice work on figuring out your rotisserie issue, and love the great job on the refurb! Gives me something to shoot for with my new project! :)

Nice job on the roti and the restore, when taken care of those old Genesis grills will last a life time.

Paul, that looks spectacular!! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks I'm glad mine inspired you. What project are you working on? Looking forward to seeing some pics
I picked up a 2004 Genesis Gold C a couple of weeks ago, and have torn it apart to get it spruced up. It is functioning fine, but needs a deep clean, as well as some repairs to the frame. I'm hoping to have it up and running again before the end of Feb.

Thanks I love restoring things and this just keeps giving. Bought a rotisserie and adapted it to fit and even though its very wet here it gets used a lot
Last year I purchased the Cajun Bandit Rotisserie Kit for my Weber Performer Deluxe but gets minimum use. So, what do you cook on your Rotisserie that you use a lot??

What Bruce said is ditto for me. Veggies in a pan underneath makes it even better. I got a basket for mine for Christmas but have not used it yet.
