Weber Genesis Platinum, I bought in Wausau,Wisconsin. Will be drastically modified.

Here you go, I found the thread:

Funny - My memory must be shot as I had even liked and commented on that YouTube video. Very similar to the Wolf igniter hack I did back some time ago.

I thought you attached simple electrodes in that grill not those ceramic type things on the Genesis. But now that I am seeing what Bruce did on the Genesis, that may be just the ticket for my Wolf. I'm still contemplating doing XOver burner(s) of some sort. Maybe pairing them as the old Summits used to do.

I bend the bracket around the original mount instead of welding like Bruce did. In fact I am doing another igniter hack on the Alfresco I am working on.

Mark,
Now that's the look I like. The front SS panel pops and brings out the ss shelves, The the handle goes well and adds a classic touch and pop. The red lid and knobs are the cherry 🍒 on top and pop. Altogether in appearance I give it 3 Pops!!!

I thought the gray 1000 handle looked pretty nice on it!

Just occurred to me, would the Genesis platinum emblem fit on it? I think that would be kind of cool. Even if you have to grind the tabs and RTV it on there

That one has a more modern look to it, I prefer the classic thermoset one pictured here, for look and durability purposes, but it is your grill, so you decide what is best.

That Ultra Red will definitely hold the emblem on just fine. As for the handle............................MEH sorry not a fan of the silver paint. I think either the regular composite type or a classy wood one.

I like the silver handle. I have a slight feeling I will be mostly alone in that opinion. I think it ties the end caps together nicely and creates a separation between the red top and black cook box nicely. But I also wonder how well that paint will hold up on the wood.

Yeah, the end caps are another point for me that is meh. Really not a huge silver fan. Used carefully where it's not the overwhelming component it's fine. Just a little too much there IMO. But, it's not my grill and other than photos here, I don't have to look at it :D
Mark, do whatever makes you happy bro!

I think Cody may have a good point to consider about the adding the Platinum emblem. Here is an example of what @Bruce did with his Skyline Platinum lid for this one is his. This pic I have is kind of blurry buy maybe he can provide a much clearer pic.
