Weber Genesis Platinum, I bought in Wausau,Wisconsin. Will be drastically modified.


 
I test fitted a cookbox panel from a Genesis Gold but it mounts on the back side of the frame rails, not flush like the original one does.

Like I said, I could warm up to the black cookbox. Maybe the red sideburner cover, bottom grate and tanks will help for what I see. That being said, it’s still an awesome build!!
 
Yes,
I believe it looks better with the stainless-steel front panel instead of the painted red one. I think the red one takes away from the look, and the red lid does not pop out as much because of it.
 
This is definitely one very fun build to watch unfold! My personal vote is for the red panel on the front. I think the firebox in silver is a nice touch with that, but if you are sold on the flat back then by all means go with it.

I am very interested to see that red side burner cover! :coolkettle:
 
This sure is fun to watch Mark! I'd lean towards leaving the front panel in stainless, at least until you install the bottom rack. I think it might be a good visual break between the red lid and red bottom rack.
