Slow but sure I've started the assembly process.
I took the sideburner cover to get powdercoated today.

I seem to always save the lid for the last thing when rehabbing a grill. It is probably my least favorite step in cleaning up a grill for rehab.

For me it is the cook box.

If I was still grinding them out, that would be the same for me. But having them sand blasted eliminates that dreadful process. Plus, I have have to deal with them ahead of time because it takes usually 2-3 days to get them back. In fact, I usually take 3-4 in at time.

Mark are concerned that the burner welds will eventually give with the heat?

The welds are all outside the cook box and should not get unduly hot.

I'm pretty sure the welds should be OK.
Like Bruce said, the welds are not or should not get to tremendously hot.

It's BEAUTIFUL! That handle looks great on there! I may need to warm up the the black cook box a bit, but the silver end caps on a red lid look absolutely dynamite! She's a thing of beauty, Mark! Cant wait for all the final pieces to come together. I think a red lower grate is really going to tie it all together VERY nicely!

I might not do red on the cookbox panel, the jury's still out on that
The handle is from a flipper grill I stole for the picture
I'm probably going to get a wood handle for it at some point and time.

A nice wood one would obviously be a really nice touch! I’m just surprised how well that handle works on there! It looks like it belongs on there, way more than I thought it would!

I didn't care for the red knobs before, but with the red lid, it works. I am looking forward to seeing it with the side burner cover too.

I’d still say to keep the cook box shield SS. But I’d also love to see you put masking tape on one and paint it red… just to see…
