we were invited to spend some time at the beach with my wife's cousin and his family. We managed to find lots of great food, so if anyone finds themselves up in the northern half of Long Beach Island, let me know, so I can tell you where we got our grub.
We started at a nice fish market that sold super fresh, local seafood. Swordfish isn't something we get a lot, and it perfect for the grill (the rented house had a very new, very nice 22" weber kettle!). One of our hosts likes to make swordfish into spiedini (rolled filets with bread crumbs, parsley, garlic, parm cheese, and lemon zest).
steaks
fileted
crab stuffed cherrystones
Connecticut oysters
swordfish on the grill
plated with some grilled summer vegs and a lemon pasta
a little sunrise over the ocean action:
a couple days later we went back to the same market and picked up some crab, shrimp and steamers for a crab boil. The house was short a big pot so I had to cook 24 crabs, 2 lbs of shrimp, 2 lbs of steamers, potatoes and corn in 4 pots over 4 burners
a little rainbow over the ocean action:
