Two Bird Cooks, One for the Birds

I went with bird legs for the Cardinals home opener yesterday, more on that later.
First up is a cook from last week, KFC bird thighs, braised reds, and asparagus.

Everything was great, but the moisture from the cooking potatoes made the thighs a bit soft.
They'll go on another kettle next time.

Clearing skies at last after 4.5 inches of rain over the last few days.

Rain did not stop faithful Cards fans from packing downtown, and the stadium for the home opener.
We dined at home on legs, mushrooms, and more asparagus.
Heavy coating of my mixed rubs applied.

A winning dinner for a Cardinals win!
(I know someone will ask, that's Parm cheese, and French fried onions on the gus)

Another cool day today, then 65 tomorrow, and 77 Thursday. Yipee!!!
Hope your weather is warm, and your Webers are smokin' hot!

Great looking cooks, Bob. Like that technique of the asparagus with the potatoes. Will definitely try that. I see the Cards are number one in the MLB Power Rankings, second week running. Good luck to you. I'm a long time Giants fan.

Nice win for the Cards. You've really got that chicken down. I love all the asparagus you have been cooking lately.

Bob, the chicken looks great as does all your posts. Spring is just around the corner..... if we can just survive the wind
