Broke out the Santa Maria Pit today. I haven't cooked on it in a very long time. Don't know why its fun to cook on and put out some really good que.

Tri tip seasoned with Montreal Steak Seasoning, some corn and potatoes down by the coals. Cooking with red oak.

Oops, forgot to not put the tongs within dogs reach.

done, just gotta let it rest a bit

Had my TT with a salad and a little EVOO and Balsamic vinegar as a dipping sauce for my piece of French bread

Nice cook John, that TT looks perfect. I've got the same problem with tong lickers X2, you would think I would have learned by now.... nope.

John that TT is done to perfection. Oh yes, I see the tongs were in the right spot to sample. We've all been there if you have 4 legged friends around.;)

Beautiful Tri Tip! That santa maria looks fun, and love cooking with all wood. I've got some white oak I've gotta try soon.

John that's awesome. Can't get oak here but I can only imagine how good the flavor it adds. Great looking meal!
