Things You'd Like Weber To Make.

Not sure if there has been a thread already started like this. I've looked & can't find one.

I'm sure the good folks at Weber read these hallowed pages, & hopefully take note of what their customers would like them to make. (If we make enough noise).

This thread is for items / gadgets / gizmos etc that we would like to see Weber make. Not for items / gadgets / gizmos that are already out there, but may not be available worldwide. E.g. Mangal-Grill Set. (Which I believe is not available in the U.S.).

I'll start.

1). Slide-Aside for the 14 / 18 / 22 WSM.

Please discuss. :)

Edit: Chris if this is in the wrong forum, please move. Thanks.

26" Performer would be my wish, sometimes the 22 is a little tight, especially doing indirect. That way I could get rid of the two performers and pick up a little more room.

I'll go a different route and say a 24" Performer, maybe some parts from the WSCG could be used.
A 26" Performer would be a monster, so I think a 24" would be a good compromise.

and put a damn rubber guard on top vent controls of all kettles!

Another vote for 26" Performer. Hope they come out with one soon too, my current Performer is getting tired and will be needing a new one pretty soon.

That's a good thought Bob, it would be big, but more stable than a stand alone 26. Also my thinking, depending on the price which is going to be more than a 22, would the 2" difference justify buying a new performer vs. the 26. Weber already has the tooling for the 26 and might be able to modify the existing cart to fit the 26 bowl. It may not be a high volume seller so by keeping the design and tooling cost down it may be doable.
On the rubber guard, my kettle pizza performer doesn't have one and I found out how hot it can get when I went to close it.

Depending on the price, I think a 26" performer would or could be a high volume seller. Most who have been cooking on a 22" would love to have the extra size to work with. Not all, but most. I believe Weber is missing the boat on this one. Could it be that Weber feels if they come out with a 26" Performer the sales of the 22" would suffer greatly? Anyway, give me a 26" performer and I'll be a happy man.

Well if you guys are going to insist on your 26, instead of my 24, then better insist on a lid hinge too, them suckers are heavy and unwieldy.

Tony, you might want to edit the title to "Which One Thing Would You Like Weber To Make?". Seems like the 26" Performer is all we need.

I agree. FWIW the last OTG I bought, I ended up putting the plastic guard on it and drilling out the lid for a thermometer like the WSM.

Was going to be my request. To add a Performer WSM would be nice as well

Hahahahaha. ......get rid of the two performers and pick up a little more room........someone get me some duct tape, my sides are splitting!!! Who you tryin' to kid? You'd still buy the 26 and keep the 22's. Sorry Rich......FAIL!! You're a Weber addict. :)

Hey Tony I did sell a Weber (Ducane) just a few weeks ago... Sniff, I miss it already:(. Actually there is a method to my madness. If I get rid of another one I'll be down two and I gave my cart that I made from a Weber 1000 to Barb for a plant cart in the front patio so that's three.
So when I say (if it ever happens) I want to get a 26" performer I've taken away her current response "were are you going to put it" I also have another 1000 chassis I'm looking at making a cart for my 18.5 WSM, that will still have me down two, so I'm good to go on space.
Only have 8 Weber's on hand right now, kind of scary.

I like the 26" performer as well.
I'd like them to ditch the tuck away lid holder. It seems to cut off a part of my cooking surface having to work around it. I liked the old hang hook. But a correctly counter balanced hinge would be best!
How about adding a side burner to the performer with gas assist? You already have the gas bottle, just "T" off of it to a separate dial and ignition.

Great ideas. Might as well have it hold 20# propane tanks too. Two burners would blow through the small propane cans like lightning.

26" 3/4 WSM.
I Know, I know what you say now: no need! You have enough room with the 2 grates in the 22".
But I dont want to use 2 grates. I use just one.
And, therefore, I need more space.
