Gotta tell ya Dave...
about.... ohh, eight or 9 years ago, Liz invited her friend over for dinner.
Cool, I know her, I know she loves a nice grilled steak.... i'll get some fine Delmonico steaks...
well, she brought her "boyfriend" along and I knew she would, so no surprise there.

They arrived, it was a very nice early August afternoon... we had a few cocktails on the deck...
things were great!

Time to start dinner, I had the steaks out of the fridge, seasoned however I did at the time, bringing them to room temps...
they all saw them, did the OOHS & AHHHS lookin' at 'em...

had the Weber grille fired up... things are great!

and as time came around to put them on the grill, JOKINGLY I asked,
"How do you want your steak done?"

Her "Boyfriend" said.......

"Well done."

huh?
and he was serious.

well, I had NEVER cooked a steak OR everything well done, did not know HOW to...
but he loved it.
a 24 dollar hunk of sweet-goodness I charred to NOTHING and he ate it & LOVED it.

haven't invited them over since.

moral of my story, I will not cook a steak well done. Sorry, will not.

Funny story Jim - I have tried and tried she will not eat a steak cooked medium soooooooo happy wife happy life
