St. Patty’s a Day Early.

Seeing that Barb had to work on St. Patrick’s Day we did our dinner a day early.

We made some soda bread one plain the other with herbs that came out really well. Simmered a Costco Bailys round corned beef for a few hours and then did some red potatoes and cabbage in the water the corned beef was cooked in.

Simple diner but I was really impressed with the round corn beef, excellent texture and flavor and not over salted. We have always used brisket flats but from now on it’s the round for us.

After a hard day of watching beef simmer and a few adult beverages my faithful companion Abby decide I needed a little cuddle time.


Her older partner didn't think a cuddle was needed at that moment.

I would say about the same as a flat but no where near what a point would have.
