On setting-up your Weber Kettle for Rotisserie spinning which do you use and how many briquettes do you light-up to a spin one(1) 3lb chicken?

Pretty much all of mine have been done with Keith’s style set up.

And, this is the result, stuffed very loosely with both halves of a lemon and head of garlic. Get it on, then sprinkle with salt and pepper as it turns! I hate to admit the number of times I’ve forgotten the drip pan let alone putting any potatoes or anything in the drip pan!
Richard, I’m sure you will you will do fine, honestly, it’s just about the easiest set up for a leisurely cook in the world!

Like others here on my WSK I use a charcoal basket on either side with a few wood chunks thrown in for good measure, and a drip pan underneath (dry or stocked depending on the cook).

Might be different on a 22” kettle but on the WSK my SNS would sit too high for the cook Id want from a rotisserie.

Timothy, thanx for your input and those excellent photos!

Fellow Forum Members; many thanx for your excellent input. The photos at the attachment are from my last outing with the rotisserie attachment in which was somewhat unsuccessful IMO. Tomorrow I have a few of my relatives showing-up for more of my rotisserie chicken and hope it turns-Out Ok. This time I will be trussing the bird which should prevent the bird detaching from the spit fork and carbonizing the chicken legs as displayed in the photos below.

Truss the legs separately if you have to, one loop on the “ankles” and one to hold the wings in so the whole thing is somewhat like a football. You are on the right track, a few more birds and you will be setting up and spinning something every few days for a month!

Oh man, look at that! That looks delicious Richard. (y) (y)
Thanx Colin and on my other Weber Grill were some other tasty morsels enjoyed by my Costa Rican relatives.
