Simple Meal in Michigan

So I have been gone for the past ten days, I see you Guy's have been very busy with beautiful meals. Anyhow, I was invited to go and Deer hunting in north western Michigan in a town called Luddington where my Fathers side of the family still lives. They own a sizable hunk of land as they were farmers.
I cooked a simple meal for my cousin Curt while there and thought I would share

Curt was busy when I arrived with a Bow Hunt Buck he was butchering after aging

I brought up some nice steaks and I seasoned them with Penzey's Chicago Steak

Everywhere I go, there I am

Hunted for eight days, saw a few small Bucks but nothing legal to shoot. That's OK. I will take plenty of deer around my home in NJ this year. I went to spend time with one of the best Men I know and this is him.
My Cousin Curt, simple, honest and very hard working Guy. Would give you the shirt off his back if he thought you needed it. Vietnam Veteran, served two tours with the 1st Infantry Division and was involved in some serious deadly stuff. You would never know it talking with him, and he never talks about it except with me after a beer or two. His limit.
Love the Guy, and he says hello

Oh, and Jim, did you see me eye balling you from across the pond

Ludington, home of the Carrom board, and a fine fellow named Curt!
Looks like you can turn out a fine meal on any cooking apparatus Bill!

Nice work Bill...sorry you didn't bag your buck but looks like you filled your tags in good times and good food! I have a Grill just like the one you used..actually they work fine and the CI grates work perfect! Hats off to Curt! Great story!!

Take care!

Well, there you are!!! I just knew you'd be cooking up something, somewhere!! Looks like a special time spent together. Very nice meal, Bill and an even nicer story. My regards to cousin Curt, and please thank him for his service!!!

Bill, no buck but you had a great time obviously. Food looks fantastic and your cousin looks like my kind of people. Nice post. Thanks for sharing it.

Thanks so much for sharing, Bill. As I am around this forum longer and longer, I love it more and more. The food is great, and the techniques are educating. However, the people it brings together and the experiences shared here are really something else.

Great posts Bill! If you haven't tried Penzey spices before you are in for
a treat! Hopefully there is one close to where you live. If not they have the
same or most of the same selection on line.

Bill, i'm gonna find a boat and paddle across your state's lake to shake the hand of your cousin Curt! (and your's too of course;) )
And while i'm there, i'm hoping you'll have some coals started in a Weber grill so I can toss on some Wisconsin Brats i'll tug along and some of that good ol' fashion Milwaukee Beer everyone's been talking about and we'll all have a good'ol time!

Great post Buddy, I did feel like someone's been watchin' me.:p

Nice steaks and cool pics Bill!!! Just curious, how much is a non resident deer hunting license nowadays?
