I always leave my grill on full for 15 minutes after cooking and then go out and scrape the charred crud off the grates. Then, I let it sit for 15 or more minutes and go out and spray the grates with cooking oil spray. Then, it is clean and ready to go the next time I cook and I don't have to worry about the acids in the stuck on food causing the grates to corrode. Of course, that isn't so much an issue with Stainless.
