A quick look found these and made me realize, again, that I have a lot of cook pics compared to those of family.

I had to go all the way back to 2011 to find this one. It is probably the reason Weber had to send me a new bowl the next year.

This. Too high of heat caused the enamel to separate and come off. I am not the only one this has happened to.

It happened to me and I often use the same set up as you. I contacted Weber and since my Performer was under ten years old, (8), they cover it under warranty.

Rolf, it was covered under warranty. Since then I use my baskets to keep the coals from direct contact with the bowl.
