Saturday Collaboration - Smoked Meatloaf

Hello All,

Well we were plowing through another busy Saturday of kid activities and chores and time got away from us again (anyone noticing a theme in my life here?). Along about late afternoon Kari and I looked at each other and said "Well what are you cooking tonight?" And so was born another collaboration. She agreed to lay up a meatloaf and I agreed to cook it on the OTG. Here are a few pics of our collaboration.

The family really enjoyed this. We have meatloaf frequently but I had never grilled it before. The high heat smoke worked really well and the flavor was awesome. This was the perfect meal for a busy day and it is always fun to cook with Kari - win-win. I suspect I will be called upon to do this again. Thanks for looking.

Regards,

John

Great looking meatloaf John, nice teamwork with Kari too! Barb and I only do meatloaf on the grill anymore with just a little smoke it's better than any oven meatloaf for sure.

Thats some great looking meatloafs you have, they do come out so much better this way. you and Kari make a great team!!

Excellent looking meatloafs! I've come back around to enjoy meatloafs. Growing up, my mom's version was horrendous!! Haha. Took me a while to see there were way better versions. Yours definitely looks great!

Meat loaf looks delicious. I need to make some. Never made one before or eaten meatloaf. :(

Good grief bud, all the amazing cooks you post here and you haven't done that? Must not be much of a California thing? The OP did it right- once you have cooked meatloaf over charcoal it's pretty hard to be impressed by one from an oven. Put some mashed taters on a cedar plank with it and you have a real crowd pleaser.
